2nd Annual Southern California Kabuki Syndrome Family Gathering

Rick and Jodie Esponda are very excited to be hosting the Second Annual Southern California Kabuki Syndrome Family Gathering on Saturday, July 6, 2013 in Torrance, California.  Last year ten families gathered to meet and get to know each other, share stories, ideas, and experiences, ask questions, and be taught by each other and 2 highly qualified therapists.  Last year we also had volunteers watch the children for portions of the day while the adults had times together, and we shared a simple catered meal together as a large group.

Kabuki Karnival

This is an invitation to all families to our "Kabuki Karnival" this summer. It will be Saturday, July 13th from 10:00am until 4:00pm in Mukwonago, Wisconsin (USA). Mukwonago is about 20 minutes south-west of Milwaukee and 1 1/2 to 2 hours from Chicago. There will be carnival games, bouncy houses and crafts for the kids. There will be guest speakers (Children's Hosp. of Wisconsin) and "networking time" for the parents. We will be serving lunch. There will be Therapists and Student Therapists present.

Pacific Northwest KSN Barbeque - Summer 2010

event_1For years I have wanted to meet face-to-face some of the families I have read about, seen pictures of, and communicated with via the Internet, that love someone with Kabuki Syndrome. This summer I had my chance and hopped on a plane to Seattle to visit dear friends and attend the Pacific Northwest barbeque with my 7 year-old son, Joshua, who has KS.

Illinois Family Gathering - Summer 2012

August 4th 2012 my wife Lisa and I along with our daughter Lilly took a drive through Wisconsin and down to Illinois. To Springfield to be exact, to the Western Oaks Baptist Church where Cheryl had set up a Kabuki get together. It was a day of sharing, laughing, changing ideas and just having fun. We visited with friends we already knew and were able to meet people that we have never met. There were about 10 families there that day from parents and grand -parents alike as well as their brothers and sisters.

Ohio Meet & Greet

For families, caregivers, therapists and medical personnel who deal with Kabuki. A time to socialize, share and make some new friends. Knights of Columbus Hall 1114 Park Avenue West, Mansfield, OH 44906 (Beside Value City Furniture - look for the sign) There will be Crafts and Activities. We will also have entertainment provided by The Magic Company. Please bring a covered dish to share and if your loved one is on a special diet please feel free to bring what they need or want to eat. Meat (sloppy Joes & shredded chicken) & drinks provided.

California Family Gathering

We are pleased to announce the first ever (to our knowledge) gathering of families and individuals affected by Kabuki Syndrome in Southern California! We hope to expand this gathering in the future, but we're starting casual and small. We hope this day will be a celebration of our children and families, and that it will be a fun day that we will all remember for a long time.

This year's gathering will be on Saturday, June 30 from 10am to 4pm.
